Code of Conduct

Jesus the Good Shepherd (JGS) Church & Ministries: Code of Conduct
We at Jesus the Good Shepherd Church and Good Shepherd School educational project welcome all God’s children to minister with us.
Jesus said that the most important commandment is, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31)
As brothers and sisters in Christ, we therefore ascribe to the following Code of Conduct, as students, parents, and teachers:
~ We treat everyone with kindness and respect, remembering the words of our Lord that we are to take care of others first.
~ Each of us is responsible for our own and our children’s behavior.  We are willing to be held accountable for these actions, and will in a manner of caring and respect, hold others accountable for theirs.
~We commit to monitoring our own words and actions, making sure they are in the Spirit of God.
~ We affirm that disrespect of teachers and other leaders of JGS activities will absolutely not be tolerated.
~ We will not lead each other into temptation, nor put stumbling blocks before others. Thus, we will ensure that there are always adults in rooms, that doors are wide open, that emails and messages are transparent, and that speech is age appropriate.
~ We commit to being on time for activities, as this is respectful to those who have worked so hard to arrange said activities.
~ We commit to respecting all property and materials of others as well, as respect for the belongings of others is an extension of our respect for others themselves.
~ We understand that conflicts will sometimes happen, and we commit to handling them in a caring and respectful manner as befits the Church. We commit to speaking the truth in love and bringing all back into unity and fellowship with one another.
